Just steps from Salisbury’s iconic Cathedral, The New Inn’s landscaped garden has sweeping views of the spire that back onto the Cathedral’s original wall, with ancient timber dating to 1215 woven through the original building.
The New Inn is a Grade II listed 16th Century public house, formerly three cottages, that serves award-winning Badger & Outland beers brewed locally in Blandford, by Hall & Woodhouse.
Upstairs we offer four thoughtfully styled guestrooms, nestled in the character-filled framework above the hum of the city.
Our kitchen boasts seasonal cooking and local provenance, with daily chef specials, and a traditional British menu – we focus on zero waste and local sourcing, making everything where possible on site. Our partnership with New Forest Pastures, and our local fishmongers ensures sustainable sourcing and quality produce, bringing integrity to our plates, and we are proud of our food.
Whether you’re joining us for a pint in the sun, dinner by candlelight, or a few nights away in one of our quiet upstairs rooms, The New Inn is a place to slow down, eat well, and feel at home.
At The New Inn, every dish begins with ingredients chosen for their quality and provenance.
We source from trusted local producers, ensuring that what arrives on your plate is not only fresh but reflective of the region’s best. It’s food made with intention—where flavour is built from the foundation up.
From pickles to puddings, everything here is homemade and cooked to order. No shortcuts, no pretense—just honest cooking with a focus on depth, texture, and balance.
Whether it’s a comforting classic or a seasonal special, each plate is quietly confident and grounded in tradition.
We’re proud to work with New Forest Pastures, whose grass-fed heritage meats bring depth and integrity to the plate.
Their commitment to high-welfare, sustainable farming means each cut carries the kind of flavour that only comes from local care. It’s the kind of partnership that strengthens every dish we serve.
